Nokia 7 unveiled; comes with 3000mAh battery

The much awaited unveiling of the Nokia 7 smartphone
finally came yesterday at the HMD Global Press event, and I must say for a
mid-range device, all the anticipation was worth it. The latest smartphone from
Nokia, sports a 3000mAh battery life, a 5.2-inch 1080p LCD display, and a
much improved 16MP camera with f/1.8 aperture.

The mid-range device is housed in a glass and aluminium
body with the fingerprint sensor at the back, sports a 5-megapixel
wide-angle secondary camera and a 16-megapixel main camera with f/1.8
aperture with dual-tone flash. According to Nokia, the Nokia 7 comes with what
it calls the “Dual Sight” Technology; a feature that allows users
take photos and record videos with the front and back camera at the same time. Could
this be a selling point? Well, Samsung did this with the S4 back in 2013!
The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630
chipset, has an internal storage of 64GB, microSD expandable,  and
comes in two configurations- 4GB and 6GB of RAM. Nokia 7 will run Android 7.0
Nougat fresh off the box with an assurance from Nokia that it will be upgraded
to Android Oreo. How soon this will happen is what we are yet to know for now.

The device will be available exclusively in China (for
now) starting October 24th. As for the prices, the 4GB of RAM version will
cost  ¥2,499 (about US$377) while the  6 GB of RAM version will
cost ¥2696 (about US$407).
What do you think of this device?
