Samsung on Sunday launched the highly anticipated Galaxy S9 and S9+ and from the feelers that have been making the rounds, the phones are all about the camera. While still maintaining the same sizes as the previous Galaxy versions, the S8 and S8+, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ come with larger and brighter screens. The new phones come with enhanced facial recognition system, wireless changing, head phone jack, and like previous Galaxy versions, they are water resistant.
With a dual camera setup and a new dual aperture capable of adapting to different lighting conditions, the cameras on the new phones can take sharper pictures in low-light conditions when compared to previous versions. The phones are also equipped with a slow motion tool that enables users record videos that are 32-times slower that what was obtainable on previous models of the Galaxy series.
Samsung is finallytaking its facial recognition system seriously. Although this feature has been available on Galaxy devices for some times now, the S9 and S9+ are equipped with advanced facial recognition system capable of competing with that of the iPhone X. The tool makes use of facial recognition and Iris scanner blended together and is able to use them interchangeably, depending on the lighting condition. See full specifications below:
