Motorola releases list of its devices that will be getting Android 8.0 Oreo

Motorola
is not here to play. The American telecommunications equipment manufacturer has
just released the list of its mobile devices that will be getting the latest
Android operating system- Oreo. With Android 8.0 already available on Google
Pixel and Nexus devices, the focus is now on other top Android device manufacturers
to see how quick they get the update, and Motorola has stepped forward with the
list of its Android 8.0 eligible devices.

>> Moto
Z2 Play – Verizon, unlocked
>> Moto

>> Moto

>> Moto

>> Moto

Note that
locked devices will only get the updates subject to the approval of their
carriers, even though Motorola is responsible for the updates. This is because
the carriers will be responsible for pushing out the updates to users. Unlock
devices will get the updates as soon as they are made available by Motorola
The
soon-coming Moto X4 is conspicuously absent on the list above owing to the
speculations that it may be the first Android One device to be launched in the
US. Other notable omissions on the list include the Moto
G4, Moto G4 Play and Moto G4 Plus, all released in 2016 and can be upgraded to
Android 7.0 Nougat. If are in possession of one of these three devices, the
Nougat seems to be your last update.
As we patiently await the release of the Moto X4 in
other parts of the world, let me know what you think about the exclusion of the
G brand from this list. Do you think Android Oreo will ever come to them? If yes, how soon?
